World's End

Things they don't tell you on the travel brochures:
There are no straight roads in the entire country.
The road you take for the 30km from Nuwara Eliya to Horton Plains will take 2-1/2 hours.
The reason the drive will take so long is that the extremely winding road is filled with bumps and potholes.
If you don't like roller coasters (which I don't), you won't like this road.
The "wildlife" you will see in the national park consists of sambur elk--and that's just about it.
The walk to World's End is 14 km round trip.
Although the sign says the walk is "easy," that is a relative term, meaning it's not washed out but filled with rocks and boulders.
When you get to World's End, there is so much mist and cloud cover, you won't be able to see down the almost 5000 ft precipice you came all that way to see.
The scenery along the way is unsurpassed for lush vegetation untouched by billboards and commercialism.
It's only necessary to experience this once in a lifetime.
